Anti-bullying

St Luke’s has a zero tolerance stance on bullying. Bullying is identified as repeated behaviour which is intended to hurt someone either emotionally or physically. Bullying, of any kind, has no place at St Luke’s.

We believe in celebrating individual differences and understand that our students learn best when they are accepted, valued, where their strengths are recognised and opportunities are provided to enable them to succeed.

St Luke’s value the experience that parents/carers have and welcome your ideas and feedback. Please click on the consult link to send an email directly to the school office.

If you, or anyone you know has experienced bullying or unkindness, it is important that you let us know – be an upstander.

To report any instances of bullying please use the form below which will allow you to send us an email detailing your concerns.

Bullying and the law:

S90 and S91 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006. Incidents outside of a school premises can be dealt with by the school. This is used, where reasonable, to address the conduct of the student, which includes bullying outside of the school, on public transport, outside local shops or in town or village centre.

Cyberbullying:

The Education Act 2011 amended from the 1996 act of the same name, gives the school power to go through a child’s phone without consent from a parent. School can also seize a mobile phone if they believe there is evidence of an offence and hand to police as soon as reasonably practicable. This helps us work with young people to keep our community safe online.

Where appropriate, the police can support when an incident takes the form of Malicious Communication. This includes behaviour which may lead to feelings of harassment, alarm or distress, especially if it was a pattern of behaviour (which could be just a few incidents over a short period of time- even a couple of days.)
